International race dedicated to Tajik Capital City Day held on April 19

DUSHANBE, April 21, 2014, Asia-Plus – An international race dedicated to the Tajik Capital City Day took place in Dushanbe on April 19.

The Dushanbe mayor’s office has reportedly allocated more than 202,000 somoni (equivalent to more than 40,000 USD) for organizing the race (21.097 kilometers) and winners among men and women received 3,500 U.S. dollars (USD) each.  Roman Romanenko from Ukraine finished first among men and Sitora Homidova from Uzbekistan finished first among women.  

Participants taking the second place (Andrey Petrov from Uzbekistan among men and Yulia Chizhenko from Russia among women) received 3,000 USD each, participants taking the third place (Yuri Chekun from Russia among men and Yekaterina Fateyeva from Russia among women) received 2,500 USD each, participants taking the fourth place (Andrey Bryzgalov from Russian among men and Marina Khmelevskaya from Uzbekistan among women) – 2,000 USD each, and participants taking the fifth place (Kimberes Kember from Kenya among men and Natalia Solovyova from Russian among women) – 1,800 USD each.

Besides, a ceremonial meeting, presided over by Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, took place at the Dushanbe Plaza Business Center in Dushanbe on Saturday on the occasion of the Tajik Capital City Day.

The award ceremony for the winners of the “The Best Hotel,” “The Cafeteria,” The Best Navrouz Show,” “The Best Residential Building,” “School of the Year,” and “Class of the Year” contests was held on the sidelines of the meeting.     

The Capital City Day is marked in Tajikistan on the third Saturday of April and this year, Dushanbe marked this event on April 19.
