DUSHANBE, September 2, 2014, Asia-Plus — An Afghan national has been detained with a large amount of narcotics in the Shugnan district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), according to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service.
Afghan national Jumagul waladi Saodatyor was detained yesterday morning while illegally crossing the border river near the Nishousp village in the GBAO Shugnan district.
Twenty packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing eighteen kilograms were confiscated from him, the source said.

(Poppy 2014), is going on in Tajikistan. This year, the anti-drug operation was launched in early May and it will run through November.
This annual operation, involving representatives of law enforcement agencies, local authorities, ministries of agriculture and health, as well as the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, is aimed at detecting and destroying drug crops across the country.
