DUSHANBE, September 4, 2013, Asia-Plus – Teenager from Dushanbe, Saidbeg Halimzoda, has been fined 2,000 somoni for hacking in the computer network of the mobile-telephone operator TT-Mobile.

An official source at a court in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district says that Saidbeg Halimzoda was registered with the billing system of the limited liability company, SSP-Payvand, in July last year and hacked into the computer system of TT-Mobile.

“Damaged caused by him to SSP-Payvand has been estimated at 11,620 somoni,” the source said.

Halimzoda was found guilty of an offence under Article 247 (1) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code, and he was fined 2,000 somoni.

We will recall that three young Tajik men were arrested in July last year in what was called the first-ever online hacking case inside Tajikistan.  The suspects were reportedly accused of hacking into the computer network of a subsidiary of Sweden”s TeliaSonera mobile-telephone operator.

Authorities said they had stolen information from the company Indigo-Tajikistan in order to make fake subscriber identity module (SIM) cards for mobile phones.  The suspects were charged with illegal access to online information and the modification of online information that caused an estimated $150,000 in damages.
