DUSHANBE, September 2014, Asia-Plus — Firouz Kholiqzoda, an aide to a chief prosecutor in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district, has been detained for a fatal traffic accident that took place in Dushanbe Sunday morning.
We will recall that reckless driving left one woman dead in the early morning hours Sunday.
Fifty-four-year-old street cleaner, Ms. Zevarmo Pirova, died instantly after Mercedes hit her while she was sweeping street near Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel. The accident took place on September 28, at around 4:30 am.
“The blow was so powerful that Zevarmo’s body was torn to pieces and her two colleagues fell down in a faint as they contemplated the scene. They were taken to the National Medical Center (Qariyai Bolo hospital),” Nazri Niyozov, the acting head of the road servicing department in Dushanbe’s Sino district, told Asia-Plus in an interview, noting that the driver escaped the accident scene.
According to him, Firouz Kholiqzoda, an aide to a chief prosecutor in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district, was detained on Monday for that fatal traffic accident.
The Dushanbe prosecutor’s office has reportedly instituted criminal proceedings against Kholiqzoda, who faces charges in deadly accident and escaping the accident scene.
