DUSHANBE, April 22, 215, Asia-Plus – Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a government-to-government agreement between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of civil defense and prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, according to the Kazakh president’s official website.
The agreement was signed in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 6, 2014 and the Kazakh parliament ratified the document in mid-April this year.
According to Kazakhstan’s upper house (Senate) of parliament, the document aims at laying a legal foundation of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in the field of civil defense and prevention and liquidation of emergency situations.
The agreement reportedly determines authorized bodies, forms of cooperation, types of assistance, the procedure of providing mutual assistance in case of an emergency and coordination of joint actions.
