“Criminal proceedings have been instituted and search for Doustov is under way, the source said.
Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service reports that Jourabek Doustov disappeared on May 8 after telling his wife he would go to a wedding of his colleague.
Doustov’s wife, Faroghat Kholova, told Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service that she do not believe that Doustov could go to Syria.
Doustov’s relatives and friends also dismissed suggestions that Doustov, who has 2 years of experience of work with penitentiary institutions, could leave for Syria to join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants there as “baseless.”
