DUSHANBE, July 1, 2016, Asia-Plus – 2,581 serious crimes have been reported in Tajikistan over the first five months of this year, which is 2.2 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The number of robberies reported increase by 47.4 percent compared to the first five months of last year. 84 cases of robbery have been reported in January-May this year.
Compared to January-May 2015 there was a 35.1 percent increase in the number cases of the deliberate infliction of serious bodily injuries. 50 cases of the deliberate infliction of serious bodily injuries have been reported in the country over the first five months of this year.
The number of reported cases of banditry has increased by 25 percent over the same five-month period (30 cases).
17 cases of rape and attempted rape have been filed over the report period (a 6.3 percent increase).
The number of frauds during the report period has increased by 2.4 percent (1,971 cases).
Compared to January-May 2015 there was a 31.2 percent decrease in the number of reported cases of bribery (66 cases of bribery have been reported over the first five months of this year).
The number of reported murders and attempted murders has decreased over the same five-month period by 11.9 percent (37 cases have been reported in January-May this year).
In January-May this year there were 418 reported drug-related crimes (an 11.1 percent decrease) and 420 reported cases of hooliganism (a 10.8 percent decrease).
