President Emomali Rahmon yesterday held an enlarged session of the government to review the results of the past year’s work and discuss plans for this year.
Inaugurating the meeting, Emomali Rahmon noted that in general, the year of 2019 was successful for the Tajik people, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Reporting on the country’s socioeconomic development in 2019, Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda noted that the gross domestic product (GDP) last year stood at 77.3 billion somoni and the GDP growth rate last year was 7.7.
Heads of all ministries and agencies of the country reported on the results of work carried out last year.
Minister of Finance Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, in particular, noted that the budget revenue part last year stood at 23.2 billion somoni, which is 79.5 million somoni fewer than it was originally planned.
Chairman of the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, Nusratullo Davlatzoda, noted that the budget last year received 852 million somoni less due to due to non-fulfillment of targets on three types of taxes.
Director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption Sulaimon Sultonzoda and Head of the Accounts Chamber Qarakhon Chillazoda noted that 1,410 inspections carried out last year revealed financial damage in the amount of more than 918 million somoni.
New tasks were set before ministers and heads of agencies as well as heads of provinces, cities and districts. The president, in particular, ordered to government to increase GDP to 87.4 billion somoni this year, ensuring its real growth at the rate of 7.8 percent.
