A new pedestrian subway has been commissioned in Khujand, the capital of the northern province of Sughd. It has been constructed in the area not far from the Panjshanbe bazaar.
The Sughd regional administration press center says the construction of this facility has been financed by local entrepreneur Murtazo Aliyev. He has reportedly spent 20 million somoni on construction of this pedestrian subway, which is 260 meters in length and more than 18 meters in breadth.
This pedestrian subway is the longest one in the Central Asian region, according to the Sughd regional administration press center.
114 stores trading in domestic products such as clothes, folk handicrafts and some others are located in this pedestrian subway.
