Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received Boyden Gray, US Special Envoy on Eurasian Energy Policy, and Stephen Mann, US State Department Coordinator on Eurasian Energy Diplomacy, who arrived in Ashgabat, September 8. Sylvia Curran, US Charge d’Affaires a.i in Turkmenistan, attended the meeting in the Presidential Palace.
“Turkmenistan possessing vast hydrocarbon reserves, acts as a key player in the world energy market”, Boyden Gray said. “It presupposes the country’s more active participation in the international cooperation in this strategic sector of the world economy”.
According to the press-service of the Turkmen leader, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the adherence to the policy of diversification of Turkmen energy exports to world markets. Having expressed support for the initiatives of the Turkmen leader and his energy policy, Boyden Gray said the United States can “render substantial assistance in the realization of large-scale projects put forward by Turkmenistan”.
On the same day, the US delegation was received in the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Ministry and the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan.
