Turkey expresses high interest in Turkmen gas imports

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyp Erdogan, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a two-day visit, held talks in Ashgabat on 3 October.

Turkish prime minister confirmed Turkey”s readiness to expand partnership with Turkmenistan in the sphere of fuel and energy and expressed “high interest in Turkmen gas supplies,” the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) said.

Recep Tayyp Erdogan also stressed Turkey businessmen”s huge interest in establishing closer and productive cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Having emphasized their willingness to continue building up the Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in all areas, the sides discussed specific steps for strengthening and expanding this cooperation in the interest of the two country”s peoples, the TDH said. The talks were held in a constructive atmosphere.
