Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed questions of collaboration in railroad transport industry, reported press service of JS National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
In Tashkent on October 10 Askar Mamin President of JS Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Nodirhon Khanov assistant of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Elyor Ganiyev External Economic Relations Minister, and Achilbay Ramatov Chairman of Governmental Join Stock (GJS) company Uzbekistan Temir Yollari met.
According to the press service during the meeting questions of bilateral cooperation were discussed. Also the coordination of new prices on locomotive-hour, on implemented work of locomotives and locomotive brigades according to the contract on 17 April 2007 were talked over.
Besides during negotiations the results on railroad works for 8 months of 2008 were summarized.
As Mamin noted the volume of freight transportations through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan boundaries during the period of 8 months 2008 made up 12.5 million tons that is more on 966 thousand tons than for the same period of 2007 year.
“Container freight transportation is one of the main perspectives of railway transportation development. Our roads played the big role in organization of container trains running from Peoples Republic of China to Central Asian countries through Saryagash station. From the beginning of 2008 year 65 container trains passed to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan territory, including 36 trains on the route Lyanyungan – Dostyk – Saryagash, and 29 trains on the route Nakhodka – Lokot – Saryagash.
In the results of the meeting contract on mutual relations in railway transportation sphere was signed.
