In January-November, Tajikistan’s national budget reportedly overfulfilled by 3.6 percent

As of November 30 this year, Tajikistan budget for this year has stood at 31 billion somonis (equivalent to little more than 3 billion U.S. dollars), which is 3.6 percent more than the refined plan for the first eleven months of this year, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

An official source within a MoF says the overplanned budget revenues for January-November this year have stood at 1.1 billion somonis (equivalent to about 110 million U.S. dollars).

Target indicators for the reporting period have been exceeded primarily due to the increase in the collection of basic taxes, including the tax on income (former income tax and profit tax), the value added tax (VAT) and the excise tax.

Over the same eleven-month period, the share of tax receipts in the country’s budget revenues has amounted to 66 percent.

Possibly, the overfulfillment of the national budget over the reporting period has been partly caused by the October amendments under which the 2022 budget revenues target has been reduced from 33 billion somonis to 32.6 billion somonis.
