President Emomali Rahmon yesterday held an enlarged government session to review the results of the past year's work and determine the main tasks for this year, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
The meeting members included members of the government, president’s executive office, heads of republican agencies and enterprises, heads of provinces, cities and districts, heads of higher educational institutions, directors of project implementation units, heads of banks, editors-in-chief of state-run media outlets and other officials.
Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda reported on the results of socio-economic development in 2022.
According to him, the gross domestic product for 2022 was 115.7 billion somonis.
Last year, inflation reportedly stood at 4.2 percent (3.8-percent decrease compared to 2021).
The prime minister noted that 487 new industrial enterprises were introduced into operation last year.
“17 billion somonis’ worth of projects are currently being implemented in the country’s energy sector,” Rasoulzoda said, noting that electricity generation last year increased by 776 million kWh or 3.8 percent compared to 2021.
Last year's gross agricultural product from all categories of farms was 49.3 billion somonis (in current prices) and increased by 8.0 percent compared to 2021.
Prime minister noted that last year’s foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows to Tajikistan were 1.9 times more compared to 2021.
In 2022, banks reportedly provided 14.4 billion somonis in loans to entrepreneurs and the population, which is 700 million somonis more than in 2021.
Last year, the volume of financing of fixed assets reportedly amounted to 16.3 billion somonis (11.4-percent increase compared to 2021).
Implementation of 17 projects in a total amount of 11 billion somonis in the transportation sector paved the way for development of the sector; in 2022, all types of transportation shipped 103.4 million tons of cargo and carried 818.6 million passengers, which is 26 percent and 11 percent more than in 2021, respectively.
Last year’s total trade turnover reportedly amounted to 47.6 billion somonis (11.2-percenr increase compared to 2021.
221 high school and preschool institutions were commissioned last year.
Last year, 190,000 new jobs were created in the country, the prime minister said.
Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, Tax Committee Chairman Nusratullo Davlatzoda, Customs Service Chief Khurshed Karimzoda and Director of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions Dilmurod Davlatzoda reported on the results of work carried out their institutions last year.
