The 15th anniversary of USAID”s work in Turkmenistan was marked in Ashgabat on 6 May. On this occasion, representatives of Turkmenistan”s ministry of foreign affairs and Mejlis, a number of ministries and organizations as well as diplomatic missions accredited in the country, international and public organizations gathered in Parahat hotel. An exhibition of multiple USAID projects in the country was held as part of the celebration.
USAID was established in 1961. It now works in more than 100 countries around the world. USAID operates in Turkmenistan on the basis of an agreement on bilateral cooperation. The long-standing relationship accounts for a number of joint projects in the sphere of economic development, education, healthcare, legal sphere and social sector.
