, February 10, Asia-Plus – A session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly’s Council will be held at the Verkhovnaya Rada (
Ukraine
’s parliament) in
Kiev
today.
According to information from the Majlisi Namoyandagon (
Tajikistan
’s lower chamber of parliament), the Majlisi Namoyandagon deputy speaker, Ubaidullo Davlatov, is representing
Tajikistan
at the session in
Kiev
.
The source says the session is aiming to consider issues related to the establishment of international institution for monitoring democracy development, strengthening of parliamentarism, and observance voting rights of citizens.
Besides, members of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly’s Council also will hear information about a progress of preparations for the tenth international economic forum in
St. Petersburg
, scheduled for
June 13-15 2006
.
The session participants include parliamentarians from
Azerbaijan

Belarus
,
Georgia
,
Kazakhstan
,
Moldova
,
Russia
,
Tajikistan
and
Ukraine
.
Participants at the session also will discuss ways of improvement of social security and rehabilitation of the population affected by the accident at the
Chernobyl
