’s largest commercial banks, intends to open its branch in
Tajikistan
.
According to information from the Kazakh Embassy in
Dushanbe
, this issue was discussed at a meeting of Aidar Akhmetov, the “Kazkommertsbank” managing director for corporate business, with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov in
Dushanbe
on Thursday [February 23].
The source says that in the course of the talks the two discussed bilateral ties and the possibility of participation of Kazakh investment in development of
Tajikistan
’s economy.
“Kazakh investor most are keen on expansion of cooperation with Tajikistan on production of aluminum, cotton and electric power,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said, “Besides, during the meeting it was noted that Kazakhstan intended to increase quotas of fuel supplies for Tajikistan.”
“Kazkommertsbank” established in 1990 is Kazakhstan’s largest private bank in terms of general assets, which amount to US$8.639 billion.
