Russia and Kyrgyzstan will probably sign a military cooperation agreement in early 2010, Valentin Vlasov Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan said meeting with the press Wednesday.
As to Vlasov, the document has been completely drawn out by the Kyrgyz side. All the materials are under consideration of the Russian Defense Ministry at the time.
The ambassador told the presidents of both countries were preparing reports on the agreement to be supposedly hand over to Russian and Kyrgyz leadership in January.
The sides began to work out the military cooperation agreement following the meeting of the presidents in summer 2009 at Issyk-Kul lake. Information about possible location of Russian troops in South Kyrgyzstan in the line with CSTO appeared at that time. The intention induced negative reaction of official Tashkent. Therewith, one of these days Nikolai Bordyuzha CSTO Secretary General stated, in his view, deployment of Russian military base in south region of the republic was not necessary.
