DUSHANBE, July 30, 2009, Asia-Plus — Health Minister Nusratullo Salimov and Mr. Hitoshi Ara, representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), yesterday signed an agreement on providing five solar batteries to Tajik medical facilities, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
The agreement was signed in the framework of the project aimed at providing city and district hospitals in Tajikistan with ecologically pure electric power.
“A group of JICA specialists are currently working in Tajikistan. They will stay here till August 7,” said the source at a MoH. “They have already conducted a series of discussions with Tajik officials and studied the project facilities and it was been decided to provide the solar batteries to the resuscitation department of the pediatric unit at the National Medical Center, maternity department of the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as central district hospitals in Qumsangir, Jomi and Danghara.”
