DUSHANBE, July 29, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced a temporary suspension of admission of entrants to Tajik Institute of Innovation Technologies and Communications for 2009-2010 academic year, Asia-Plus has learned from Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for a MoE.

In this connection, the ministry asks all applicants that have submitted their documents to this university to take them and submit to other universities until July 31.

“Such a decision has been taken because activity of this university does not meet requirements of the country’s education code,” the spokesman said.  However, he added that the university did not stop its activity and “students that have already studied at the university will continue their studies.”

Founded in 2003 as International University of Tajikistan, it was renamed University of Humanities in 2006 and eventually Tajik Institute of Innovation Technologies and Communications in 2008.  The university has seven faculties: Information Systems and Technologies; World Economy; Management; International Relations; Foreign Languages; International Law; and Computer Science.
