DUSHANBE, July 28, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Dushanbe mayor’s office has approved a plan of actions to support development of tourism in Dushanbe, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the plan has been developed as part of the national tourism development program designed for 2010-2014.
Under this plan, the Dushanbe directorate for youth, sports and tourism affairs and other relevant municipal bodies will hold various events, aimed at supporting tourism development, three times a year. Thus, an exhibition, entitled “Tourism in Dushanbe,” will be held here every year on September 27 on occasion of World Tourism Day.
The main objective of the plan is in supporting comprehensive development of tourism in the Tajik capital, the spokesman said.
