DUSHANBE, March 30, Asia-Plus — On Wednesday March 29, President Emomali Rahmonov received visiting group of entrepreneurs and investors from the Czech Republic led by Josef Gusek, director general of the “INEKON-GROUP” company. .
According to presidential press service, the meeting focused on ways of implementation of Tajik-Czech agreements signed in October 2004.
During the meeting it was noted that Consortium of Czech companies in implementation project in cement industry and energy was functioning in Tajikistan. “Czech entrepreneurs noted that at present work on reconstruction and modernization of the Dushanbe cement plant was carried out and they also want to invest in the construction of new cement plant in Shahritus district of Khatlon,” said the source, “At first the plant will produce up to 500,000 tons of cement a year and its rated capacity will be 2.5 million tons.”
During the meeting the Czech entrepreneurs also expressed intention to invest in modernization of the Qairoqqum hydroelectric power plant in northern Tajikistan in order to increase annual generation of electricity by this plant from 800,000 kWh to 1.6 kWh, according to presidential press service.
