Mayor calls on architects to participate in discussion of municipal redevelopment actively

DUSHANBE, February 10, 2011, Asia-Plus  —  A February 9 working meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, presided over by Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, discussed issues related to implementation of the municipal redevelopment plan, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office said.

The meeting participants included members of the municipal council for construction, heads of planning institutions and Tajik leading architects.

Speaking at the meeting, the mayor called on architects to participate more actively in discussion of the municipal redevelopment plan that includes the construction of modern buildings in the Tajik capital city.

Ubaidulloyev suggested that architects should submit their proposals regarding reconstruction of Roudaki, Ahmadi Donish and Ayni streets for consideration to the mayor’s office until February 19.  Old two- and three-story buildings will be demolished on these streets in preparation of construction of modern apartment buildings, the spokesman said.
