Tajik Prime Minister Aqil Aqilov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Omurbek Babanov met in Ashgabad on Tuesday, May 29, to discuss Tajik-Kyrgyz cooperation.
Prime Ministers of CIS member states gathered in Turkmenistan to take part in the forthcoming session of the Council of heads of governments of CIS member states which is scheduled for today, May 30.
As reported by the Kyrgyz Government, prime ministers of the two countries shared their views on expansion of cooperation between the two states in all spheres of mutual interest, including energy, transit of cargoes, development of infrastructure, cultural and humanitarian relations and so forth.
When talking about cooperation in energy sector and energy security, Mr.Babanov outlined the need to set up delegations to work out technical issues. Additionally, he offered to speed up resolution of an issue regarding the construction of Kulundu-Maxat bridge and preserve the area’s status till the issue of border delimitation is settled. The sides have also agreed to speed up the process of border delimitation.
The sides have also agreed that the forthcoming summit will be held at a high level and will be fruitful.
According to the source, the session is scheduled to consider 30 draft documents in various directions of integration cooperation between CIS member states. The priority will be given to decisions on the Concept of liberalization of financial market in CIS member states.
