DUSHANBE, April 22, 2010, Asia-Plus — Russia’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) has prepared a list of countries that will send their military units for participation in the Moscow Victory Parade of 2010.
According to the Russian MoD’s website, military personnel from Great Britain, the United States, France and Poland as well as former Soviet republics will also participate in the parade.
In the meantime, Moldova refused to participate in the parade, pleading economic problems, while Uzbekistan has not yet made final decision.
We will recall that Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, Adbullo Yuldoshev, told reporters in Dushanbe on April 19 that Tajikistan has celebrated and will continue celebrating Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. “We are against new assessments and falsification of outcomes of the Great Victory of the Soviet people over fascism,” Yuldoshev said, noting that the Soviet people made the main and decisive contribution to the victory over fascism.
According to some media, the Moscow Victory Parade of 2010 that will be held on the Victory Day on the 65th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War ending in the defeat of Nazi Germany will be the largest parade that has ever been held in Moscow during the post-Soviet years. More than 130 helicopters and aircrafts will be used. Also this will be the first parade that will include military units from other countries. France, Britain, United States and the Soviet Union”s major allies in World War II, will take part in the parade.
