DUSHANBE, April 23, 2014, Asia-Plus — 205,000 new jobs will be created in the country in the coming years due to introducing 150 new industrial enterprises into operation, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon announced on April 23 while addressing a joint meeting of both chambers of the parliament.

He noted that there were all necessary opportunities for launching new enterprises of mining industry and enterprises for processing raw materials into manufactured goods in Tajikistan and “it is necessary to use these opportunities in full measure.”

Adoption of the relevant natural resource management program designed for 2015-2025 will promote further development of the mining sector in the country, the president noted.

“Attention to exploration and development of natural resources has increased in recent years and several large projects are being implemented in this sector due to attraction of foreign investments and thousands of new jobs have been created,” Rahmon said.

According to him, a special attention will be given to development of non-ferrous metallurgy.

“The world practice shows that country may gain large profits through developing mining industry, establishing national companies or joint ventures in this sector,” the president noted.

Rahmon ordered relevant ministries and agencies to prepare proposals on promoting national companies having mining licenses to global financial market.
