This year Kazakhstan marks 110 years of oil drilling. Next year it is planned to gradually increase oil extraction and increase the gas production, reported intergovernmental television and radio broadcasting company MIR.
It is expected that construction of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan gas pipeline will begin on December 16. The gas pipeline will transport 40 billion cubic meters of gas, 30 of which will go to China and the other 10 will be used by Kazakhstan. The total cost of this project will total around US$20 billion.
