DUSHANBE, February 18, 2011, Asia-Plus — Nearly 70 million somoni were spent last month for construction of hydropower facilities in Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
The source says this amount includes 61 million somoni (87 percent) invested by the government and enterprises themselves and 8,7 million somoni (13 percent) of foreign loans.
According to him, 60 million somoni were spent for completion of the construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant, which is 21.8 million somoni more than in January 2010. “Besides, 1 million somoni were spent last month for Sangtdua-1 HPP and 600,000 somoni were spent for Sangtuda-2 HPP,” the source added.
Last month, the Energy Project Management Unit spent 4.4 million somoni of investments in capital assets for rehabilitation and construction of power transmission lines and small hydropower plants.
