DUSHANBE, July 28, 212, Asia-Plus – The Gorno Badakhshan regional government has called on residents of Khorog to dismantle the barricades, help strengthen stability in the city and not to yield to rumors.
A statement of the GBAO government posted on the website of the national news agency, Khovar, on July 28, in particular, notes that despite declaration of ceasefire the barricades have not been dismantled in the city. “The illegal armed group is continuing to incite the local population to illegal actions of protest,” the statement said.
The GBAO government says 18 people, including two civilians, have been killed during the military operation in Khorog.
According to the GBAO regional government, more than 70 trucks (some of them are carrying food products) have been stuck at the terminal near the village of Tang in the Shugnan district. “As a result of this the problem with providing food security and transporting goods to Khorog’s internal market has arisen,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service reports that Tajik Minister of Interiors Ramazon Rahimov has applied to residents of Khorog, offering an amnesty to persons who did not committed crimes before the beginning of the military operation in Khorog and surrendered voluntarily.
