DUSHANBE, April 28, 2014, Asia-Plus – Russian authorities have extradited alleged drug dealer, Rahimjon Karimov, to Tajikistan, according to the website of the Moscow region prosecutor’s office.
Rahimjon Karimov has reportedly been wanted by Tajik law enforcement authorities for drug trafficking (Article 200 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code) and smuggling (Article 289 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code).
In April 2013, Karimov and his partner in crime reportedly purchased more than 200 grams of heroin and drug courier was supposed to carry heroin in his stomach to Russia but was detained at the Khujand airport in Tajikistan.
Karimov, who was internationally wanted, was detained by Russian police in the Dmitrov district of Moscow oblast in July 2013.
In April 2014, the deputy Russian chief prosecutor reportedly made a decision to extradite Rahimjon Karimov to Tajikistan.
