KHUJAND, June 24, 2014, Asia-Plus — Military recruitment officer from the Bobojonghafourov district in the Sughd province, U.R., faces charge of fraud.
According to the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd, he has received 1,000 U.S. dollars from local resident of exempting his son from military service.
Criminal proceedings against the corrupt military recruitment officer have been instituted under the provision of Article 247 (2) of Tajikistan’s penal code – fraud; an investigation is under way.
79 cases of fraud were reportedly registered in Sughd province last year, 49 cases fewer than in 2012.
