Resident of Khujand gets a jail term of two years for severely beating his children

A 34-year-old resident of the northern city of Khujand, Firdavs Inomzoda, has been jailed for cruelly beating his children.

A court in Khujand sentenced Firdavs Inomzoda to two years in prison on August 26.  The sentence followed his conviction on charges of failing to fulfill the duties of raising a minor and cruelly treating his two children, a 7-year-old Ilhomjon and a 6-year-old Sumaya.

Inomzoda will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.

He was detained in May this year on suspicion of severely beating his young children.

A video of the man beating his two children has been sent to the Khujand police department by unknown person.

During the first interrogation, Inomzoda reportedly said that he had been beating the children in order to speed up divorce with their mother, who is currently working in Russia as labor migrant.

It is to be noted that Firdavs Inomzoda has a previous conviction for circulation of counterfeit bills.
