Capital mayor’s office gets down to regulating practiced traditions and rituals

DUSHANBE, April 7, Asia-Plus — An April 6 working meeting presided over by capital mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev discussed issues related to the implementation of president’s orders and commission on regulating traditions and rituals practiced by people.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that appropriate decisions had been made on those issues.  According to him, the mayor, in particular, set task to project a draft resolution on regulating the traditions and rituals practiced by the residents of Dushanbe.

“The mayor ordered to set up special public councils for regulating traditions and rituals in all mahalla (community) of the city and provide them with working offices before June 27,” said the spokesman, “Besides, working groups were set up for explaining the president’s orders and commissions to the public.”

These groups, comprising representatives from president’s office, deputy mayors, heads of the Dushanbe districts as well as representatives from the public, will work in Dushanbe from April 9 to April, according to Saidov.
