DUSHANBE, April 9, 2015, Asia-Plus — A meeting on the project, Information Networks along the Heroin Route, took place in the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in Dushanbe on April 8.
According to the DCA press center, the meeting participants included representatives of Tajik DCA, MFA, State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Interior Ministry and Customs Service as well as Mr. Thomas Carter, Team Leader at Heroin Route Phase II – Information Networks along the Heroin Route and Mer. Greg Kitsell, Technical Advisor at Heroin Route Phase II – Information Networks along the Heroin Route.
The meeting participants reportedly discussed issues related to the progress of the implementation of the project and events scheduled for this year in the framework of this project.
The project, Information Networks along the Heroin Route, is financed under Phase II of the program, Fight against Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking along the Heroin Routes, by the European Union”s Instrument for Stability and Peace (IfS) and implemented by a consortium of EU Member States led by FIIAPP.
The aim of the project is to promote regional and trans-regional cooperation, assisting law enforcement along the route to develop future operational strategies against heroin trafficking.
