DUSHANBE, June 7, 2015, Asia-Plus — 65 kilograms of hashish and two kilograms of raw opium were seized by Tajik border guards in two separate operations carried out in the southern province of Khatlon on the night of June 4-5, according to the press center of the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
42 kilograms of hashish and two kilograms of raw opium were seized by the border guards during a routine patrol in the Hamadoni district.
One Afghan drug trafficker was killed in a skirmish between Tajik border guards on a routine patrol and a group of armed Afghan drug traffickers who were illegally crossing the border river in the Panj district. 25 kilograms of hashish and the Kalashnikov assault rifle were found on the spot.
