DUSHANBE, July 27, 2015, Asia-Plus — According to data of the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan based on the statistical data from the Interior Ministry, 2,900 serious crimes have been reported in Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, which is 12.1 percent more than in the same period last year.
The number of abduction cases has reportedly sharply increased over the same six-month period. Eight abduction cases have been reported in Tajikistan in January-June this year, which is seven cases more than in the same period last year.
The number of thefts reported has increased by 42.4 percent, including residential burglaries — by 19.4 percent.
The number of reported fraud cases has increased by 17.5 percent and the number of reported bribery cases has increased by 4.0 percent.
Meanwhile, compared to January-June 2013 there was an 11.7 percent decrease in the drug-related crimes and the number of human trafficking has decreased from 22 to 11.
The number of intentional infliction of serious bodily injuries has decreased by 29 percent, the number of rapes and attempted rapes has decreased by 27.3 percent, the number of robberies has decreased by 19.4 percent, the number of murders and attempted murders has decreased by 11.3 percent and the number of hooliganism has decreased by 6.8 percent.
