DUSHANBE, October 22, 2013, Asia-Plus — The Government of Tajikistan has reportedly developed a bill exempting Barqi Tojik (the state-owned utility responsible for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan) from paying excise duty on delivery of fuel oil for Dushanbe combined heat and power (CHP) plant.
Sharofiddin Sirojov, member of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Economics and Budget, says that draft law provides for exempting Barqi Tojik from paying 1.3 million somoni for delivery of 35,000 tons of fuel oil to the country for the Dushanbe CHP plant.
This issue is expected to be considered at the next sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation that will take place on October 23.
