DUSHANBE, January 29, Asia-Plus – A commission at the Dushanbe mayor’s office should complete the work on determining individual residential houses in Circle 1 that are to be pulled down by March 1, Deputy Dushanbe Mayor, Zokirkhuja Muhiddinov, told a news conference in Dushanbe on January 27.
According to him, the exact date of resettlement of residents of these houses has not yet been fixed. “We have just completed the preparatory work on revising the city’s general plan,” Muhiddinov said, adding that the resettlement will be organized and controlled.
On the residential buildings to be pulled down, he noted that at first, old residential buildings will be pulled down. Residents of these buildings will be offered apartments of equal value or plots for housing.
Asked about individual residential buildings in Circles 2 and 3, Hokimsho Hakimov, the head of the Dushanbe construction department, said that in those circles, individual residential buildings that meet the city’s general plan requirements will remain.
The deputy mayor noted that the construction of residential buildings in Circle 1 of Dushanbe will be carried out with attraction of foreign investments.
We will recall that under the mayor’s resolution passed last year, companies building residential buildings in Circle 1 must transfer 15 percent of the total number of apartments to the mayor’s office; companies constructing residential buildings in Circle 2 transfer 13 percent and companies constructing residential buildings in Circle 3 transfer 10 percent.
