Tajik President Emomali Rahmon's sixth daughter, Zarina Rahmon, has been appointed a deputy head of the country’s largest commercial bank, Orienbonk.

Her name is mentioned in the bank management section together with names of other deputy heads of the bank Shuhrat Ismatulloyev and Odilsho Kabirov.

According to some sources, the 23-year-old Zarina Rahmon was appointed to the post in January 2017, but no public announcement has been made about the appointment.

The chief of Orienbonk is her uncle (her mother’s brother) Hasan Asadullozoda.

Zarina Rahmon has studied in Britain.  Her name first appeared in the Tajik media in 2010, during a two-month stint as a newscaster in state television’s English-language program, at the age of 16.

In 2013, Zarina Rahmon got married to the son of Beg Zuhurov, the head of the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

Emomali Rahmon has nine children – seven daughters and two sons.

In January 2016, Rahmon’s eldest daughter, Ozoda Rahmon, was appointed chief of President’s Executive Office.  Ozoda Rahmon had previously served as the first deputy foreign minister.  Her husband Jamoliddin Nouraliyev is the deputy head of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

Rahmon's eldest son, Rustam Emomali, was appointed as Mayor of Dushanbe in January 2017.  He had previously headed the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.

Emomali Rahmon's third daughter, Rukhshona Rahmonova, was appointed the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry International Organizations Department in November 2016.  She had previously worked at Tajikistan’s Embassy in London.   Her husband Shamsullo Sohibov is the president of Tajikistan’s National Winter Sports Association.
