In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Ms. Mavlouda Qalandarzoda, Chairperson of Tajikistan’s High Economic Court, noted on July 19 that economic courts’ decisions on reparation of financial damages caused to the state are practically not being fulfilled.

“Over the first six months of this year, economic courts have issued decision to repair damages totally worth more than 371.396 million somoni and 2.444 million U.S. dollars. “To-date, only 7,000 million somoni have been reimbursed,” Qalandarzoda said.

According to her, the damages reparation cases mainly concern the use of land, water and energy resources, joint use of properties, and facilities lease.

“The main reason for non-fulfillment of economic courts’ decisions regarding reparation of financial damages is lack of a precise mechanisms ensuring fulfillment of such decisions,” the High Economic Court head noted.
