Kazakhstan
’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) has been held in
Geneva
. Kazakh delegation was headed by Vice Minister of Industry and Trade, Special Representative of
Kazakhstan
at the talks on the WTO joining Zhanar Aitzhanova, reported Kazinform.
The delegation consisted of the representatives of Economy, Agriculture Ministries, National Bank, Agency for Natural Monopolies Regulation, Committee on Technical Regulation of the Ministry of Trade and Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Justice Ministry.
The session was attended by delegations from the EU, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, India, Kyrgyzstan, Ecuador, Paraguay and others countries.
Kazakhstan told the session participants of amendments to Kazakhstan legislation on currency and technical regulation, customs administration, sanitary and veterinary control, protection of intellectual property rights, which were made in order to bring it in line with the provisions of the WTO agreements. The delegation head also told about adoption of 3 legislative acts and 17 technical regulations in the sphere of security of chemical production, machines and equipment, toys, environment, construction materials and requirements to road service.
