More than 2,300 kilograms of narcotic drugs destroyed by Tajik law enforcement authorities last year

Tajik law enforcement authorities destroyed more than   2,300 kilograms of narcotic drugs in 2020, which is 788 kilograms more than in 2019. 

According to information posted on the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s website, the counternarcotics agency last year detected 144 drug-related crimes and seized 183 kilograms of narcotic drugs.

A totaled reportedly included 19 kilograms of heroin, 95 kilograms of raw opium, 40 kilograms of hashish, 15 kilograms of cannabis and more than 2,000 synthetic drug tables.  

Besides, the Interior Ministry officers reportedly destroyed  more than 1,100 kilograms of  narcotic drugs and the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) officers destroyed more than 1,090 kilograms of narcotic drugs.  

Last year, the law enforcement authorities reportedly instituted 105 criminal proceedings against 162 people over the drug-related crimes.
