Wildberries plans to enter Tajikistan market

An e-commerce company Wildberries is considering the issue of entering the markets of new countries for itself – Azerbaijan, Georgia and Tajikistan.  The founder and top manager of this company, Mrs. Tatiana Bakalchuk told this to reporters Moscow on April 28, according to TASS.  

According to her, the company plans to expand its activities within the CIS area.  “Some countries are between use and the country in which we work.  For example we think about countries such as Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, as well as Georgia,” Mrs. Bakalchuk said.  

She added that it is still premature to speak about the timing of entry into markets of these countries.  

Currently Wildberries reportedly operates in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.   

Tatyana Bakalchuk, a former English teacher and mother of seven, started e-commerce retailer Wildberries in 2004.  She reportedly founded the business at age 28 in her Moscow apartment while on maternity leave.  Her husband, Vladislav, an IT technician, soon joined her.

Wildberries is an e-commerce company working with famous brands to offer apparel, fashion goods, and electronic items.  The company offers a catalog is more than 10,500 brands to more than 3,000,000 people visiting its site on a daily basis.
