Over 50,000 SCO and CSTO military to take part in “Vostok-2022” exercises

From September 1 to September 7, the “Vostok-2022” strategic command and staff exercises will be held, which provide for the development of issues of ensuring the military security of Russia and its allies in the area of responsibility of the Eastern Military District. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

As specified in the Ministry of Defense, the Vostok-2022 exercises will be held with the practical development of defensive and offensive actions at seven training grounds of the Eastern Military District – Burduny, Goryachiye Klyuchi, Knyaz-Volkonsky, Lagunnoye, Sergeevsky, Telemba, Uspenovsky, as well as in the waters and coastal zones of the Okhotsk and Sea of Japan.

According to the agency, over 50,000 military personnel, more than 5,000 pieces of weapons and military equipment, including 140 aircraft, 60 warships, boats and support vessels will be involved in the exercises.
