President Rahmonov bestows state decorations on distinguished police officers

DUSHANBE, February 7, Asia-Plus – Since 1995, 86 terrorist acts have been committed in Tajikistan; of them 37 have been solved in the shortest possible time.

President Emomali Rahmonov remarked this at a ceremonial meeting to mark the 81

st

anniversary of Tajik police that was held at the “Kokhi Vahdat” State Complex in

Dushanbe

on February 6.

According to the president, more than 300 members of the outlawed religious extremist Hizb ut-Tahrir organizations have to date been detained in the republic and 79 criminal proceedings were instituted under charges of human trafficking last year.   “However, despite all these successes, quality and efficiency of search operations as well as activity of traffic police leave much to be desired,” head of state noted.

During the meeting the president bestowed state decorations on the distinguished police officers.  Four high-ranking interior officials were given military rank of Major-General.
