DUSHANBE, June 10, 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon is continuing his working visit to the southern Khatlon province.
Yesterday afternoon, President Rahmon attended an official opening of a soap factory in the Bokhtar district, presidential press service reports.
The factory was built by local entrepreneur Alovuddin Salohiddinov, who invested some 550,000 U.S. dollars in the works and equipment was delivered from Russia. The Bokhtar soap factory has capacity of producing 4,000 tons of soaps per year and 100 people will work with the factory in three shifts.
During his stay in Bokhtar, the president also visited the farming units Muslim, Qosim and Aziz dealing with production of vegetables, fruits as well as watermelons, melons and gourds.
In the city of Sarband, Rahmon attended inauguration of flour mill and general school.
The flour mill was built by joint-stock company (JSC) Nouri Dilshod that invested 600,000 U.S. dollars. The equipment for the flour mill was delivered from Turkey. The Sarband flour mill has the capacity of producing 30,000 tons of flour per year and 90 people will work with it. President Rahmon charged the flour mill administration to construct workshops for production of macaroni, oil and mineral waters and create 150 new jobs by September 9, 2010.
Today, President Emomali Rahmon is also supposed to meet with Khatlon regional administrators in Qurghon Teppa. The meeting is expected to review Khatlon’s economic results over the first five months of this year.
