Tajik Diaspora in Europe makes preparations for President Rahmon’s visit to EU

DUSHANBE, January 26, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A meeting of representatives of Tajik Diaspora in Europe living in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg took place at the Tajik diplomatic mission in Brussels recently, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

The meeting was dedicated to the upcoming visit of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to the countries of the European Union and 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence that will be marked on September 9, 2011, the source said.

Speaking at the meeting, the Tajik Diaspora chairman Aziz Odilov noted that the Diaspora’s website would be launched in the near future.

Tajik Ambassador to Belgium Rustamjon Soliyev welcomed the guests and informed them about achievements made by the country over the years of independence, the source added.
