DUSHANBE, September 4, 2012, Asia-Plus — Safiallo Devonayev, Chairman of the Migration Service under the Government of Tajikistan, who is currently on a tour of Russia, on September 3 met in Samara with Valery Yakovlev, Head of the Russian Federal Migration Service (FMS)’s office for Samara oblast.
The Migration service press center reports the sides discussed issues related to cooperation on legalization of Tajik labor migrants working in Samara oblast, protection of their rights and interests, as well as a joint work regarding the involvement of representatives of Tajik Diaspora in the process of adaptation of Tajik labor migrants to the social and cultural environment of Russian society.
According to Yakovlev, 30,000 Tajik nationals were registered with local migration service office as of September 1; more than 6,500 of them have reportedly got patents and 2,300 others have got work permits.
On the same day, Devonayev met in Samara with Ms. Yelena Sivakova, the chairperson of the Volga Interagency Center for Labor Medicine. In the course of the talks, Ms. Sivakova reportedly expressed intention to open the Center’s branch in Tajikistan for carrying out medical examination of Tajik nationals seeking employment opportunities in the Russian Federation.
Devonayev also met representatives of the Tajik Diaspora in Samara and Tajik labor migrants working in the area.
On September 2, Tajik migration service agency held talks with the FMS chief Konstantin Romodanovsky in Moscow.
