DUSHANBE, September 7, 2012, Asia-Plus — Kyrgyzstan”s State Committee for National Security says two young Kyrgyz nationals were hospitalized after a fight among Central Asian students at the Academy of Russia”s Federal Security Service (FSB) in Moscow, Radio Liberty reports.
The mass brawl reportedly erupted near the academy”s dormitory in Moscow on September 4.
Media reports said the clash mainly involved students from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
It is unclear what caused the fight, in which baseball bats and knives were used.
Five young men reportedly were brought to hospital after the fight, of whom two had to undergo surgery and remain hospitalized.
The Kyrgyz and Tajik Embassies were helping Moscow police in investigating the incident.
Central Asian students at the FSB Academy in Moscow are frequently children from the countries” political elites.
