Tajik delegation to annual meeting of ADB Board of Governors in India

, April 27, Asia-Plus – A delegation of


Tajikistan


will attend the Thirty-Ninth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of


the Asian Development Bank (ADB) that will be held in Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC) in


Hyderabad

,

India


from May 3-6, according to information from the ADB Dushanbe Office.

 Matlubkhon Davlatov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Economic Matters, will head the Tajik delegation consisting of Abduqohir Nazirov, Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources, and Abdurrahim Ashurov, Minister of Transport.   

The annual meeting is supposed to bring together economic and financial senior government officials, ministers, academics, journalists, government officials, business people, investment bankers, and representatives from international and non-government organizations.  

Among the issues expected to figure prominently this year are the development of challenges facing Asia in the face of global imbalances, and the Asia and Pacific regions’ massive infrastructure needs.  Delegates will be looking at how to address poverty in the context of these challenges and a rapidly changing

Asia

and, in particular,, how ADB can respond to the region’s changing needs.
